With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in executive search, assurance and consulting, Jordan is dedicated to helping both businesses and individuals reach their full potential and is deeply committed to driving excellence within the business community. With 15 years of experience in executive search, Jordan has partnered with organizations ranging from large public companies to mid-sized private and growth businesses, focusing on building leadership teams and helping clients secure the talent needed to drive sustainable success. Prior to executive search, he spent over a decade providing assurance, advisory and consulting services within Arthur Andersen’s financial services practice, working closely with senior executives and boards to advise on critical decisions and guide organizations through complex financial and operational landscapes.

 

Beyond his professional work, Jordan is deeply engaged in his community. He served on the Development Committee at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and has been a member of the McMichael Foundation’s Board of Directors. As a current Board Member, Past-President and Chair Strategic Relationships of FEI Canada Toronto Chapter, he continues to make a meaningful impact, advocating for the financial and executive leadership community. A passionate connector, adventurer, and art enthusiast, Jordan is also a world traveler who embraces new experiences and cultures.

About the Speaker

Mr. Balsillie is the retired Chairman and co-CEO of Research In Motion
(BlackBerry), a technology company he scaled from an idea to $20 billion in sales globally. His private investment office includes global and domestic technology investments, including recreational real estate across Canada and in the Middle East.

 

He is the co-founder of the Institute for New Economic Thinking in New York, the Council of Canadian Innovators based in Toronto, and the Digital Governance Council in Ottawa, as well as founder of the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo, the Centre for Digital Rights, the Balsillie School of International Affairs, the Arctic Research Foundation and Canadian SHIELD Institute. He currently chairs the boards of CCI, CIGI, Innovation Asset Collective and Digital Governance Council. He is also a member of the Board of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Advisory Board of the Stockholm Resilience Centre; an Honorary Captain (Navy) of the Royal Canadian Navy and
an Advisor to Canada School of Public Service.

 

Mr. Balsillie was the private sector representative on the UN Secretary General’s High Panel for Sustainability. His awards include: several honorary degrees, Mobile World Congress Lifetime Achievement Award, India’s Priyadarshni Academy Global Award, Canadian Business Hall of Fame, Time Magazine’s World’s 100 Most Influential People and three times Barron’s list of “World’s Top CEOs.
